Challenge
Ergeon runs a national outdoor construction platform — fence, turf, deck, and concrete — with a 3D quoting calculator, live video estimates, and over 21,000 verified customer reviews. As an intern, I needed to contribute meaningfully to a large production codebase from day one.
Approach
I learned TypeScript in two weeks on Ergeon’s React codebase and shipped pixel-perfect UI features with animations. I focused on areas where quality and performance had clear leverage: unit tests, Redux data flow, and 3D render UI improvements.
Jest tests covered critical paths and caught regressions early. Redux optimizations reduced redundant API calls, and UI work improved the 3D quoting experience for homeowners configuring outdoor projects.
